After 15 years of dreaming and planning, on December 30, 2003 Gavin and Sharilyn Grooms decided to make their dream a reality. Within 24 hours they had located the building that would become Center Street Musical Theatre. With 60 years of experience between them in the arts (music, drama, dance, etc.) they went to work and opened their first production March 25, 2004. And it's been a roller coaster ride ever since! Provo's only dinner theatre features a live orchestra with each production. Center Street Musical Theatre is a Performing Arts Center and offers voice lessons, violin lessons and summer camps.
They have a large theatre family which continues to grow almost weekly. The Grooms' have 7 children + one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law, all into the arts as much as their parents, and all blessed with musical and theatrical talents.
After five wonderful years, the lease was lost and the Grooms' have moved on to new adventures. Thank you to our patrons and friends!
